Arson - Update

Good afternoon,

A brief update for you following the arson incident in Woodbine Close, Great Ayton ⬇️

The woman who was arrested in connection with the fire has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life and burglary. 

She has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at York Magistrates' Court today (9 April).

To recap, the fire was reported to the police at around 6.20am on 8 April by North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service who have since got the fire under control.

Detectives investigating the cause of the fire are appealing to anyone who has any information or saw any suspicious activity in the area between 4.30am and 6.30am, to get in touch. They’re also appealing to anyone who has private CCTV or doorbell footage and passing motorists with dashcams, that may have caught any suspicious activity on camera to contact them.
